Anthony David Gonzalez was a tight end in American football who played for the National Football League. He spent 17 years playing on the field. Gonzalez is considered to be one of the best tight ends in history. Alongside being the NFL's leader for receiving yards, as well as the third-highest total of receptions, Gonzalez was also among the NFL tight end with the most receptions.

Former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as an FOX Sports studio analyst. Gonzalez is a regular with FOX NFL KICKOFF for this past season, serves as host of the program. The show is broadcast every Sunday at 11:15 am ET, before FOX NFL Sunday.
Gonzalez's assertion that he would retire from the NFL after 2013 was not true. The 15th of March, 2013, Gonzalez signed with Falcons a 2-year contract for $14,000,000. Randy Moss retired in 2013, and Gonzalez aged 37 at the time was able to finish the final year of his professional career in the position of being the NFL most prolific receiver of yards.
